Introduction
On 27th Sept., 2024, students from the Global College of Pharmacy, Kahnpur Khui, embarked on an enlightening industrial visit to Haustus Biotech Pvt. Ltd., Tahliwal. The Industrial visit was organized by the Training and placement department of the college.
This initiative aimed to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application within the pharmaceutical industry. The visit provided an invaluable opportunity for students to observe industry practices, understand the workflow, and interact with professionals in the field in order to expose the students to real-world applications of their academic knowledge in the pharmaceutical sector. The objective of this visit was to provide insights into the various processes involved in pharmaceutical manufacturing, quality control, quality assurance and foster connections between students and industry professionals, encouraging future career opportunities.
Haustus Biotech Pvt. Ltd., Tahliwal is a renowned organization in the pharmaceutical sector, known for its commitment to innovation and quality. With sophisticated analytical facilities, the company specializes in Pharmaceutical manufacturing of numerous dosage forms. The visit included a guided tour of the Pharmaceutical manufacturing units, quality control labs, and quality assurance.
First and foremost, the day began with a warm welcome from Mr. Amit Gupta (Plant's head) and Mrs Harpreet Kaur (Head Quality) provided an overview of the company's history, mission, and vision. Furthermore, Mr. Naresh (Production Executive) led the students on a guided tour showcasing the different stages of the manufacturing processes, which included:
Raw Material Inspection: Students learned about the significance of quality checks before production begins and significance of Quarantine Section.
Manufacturing Processes: Detailed explanations of Good manufacturing practices (GMP) involved in formulation techniques and equipment used for the manufacturing of tablet, capsule, syrup and cream were provided.
Quality Control department: The visit highlighted the importance of quality control in pharmaceuticals, showcasing testing methods for potency, purity, and stability as well as exemplifying the working of sophisticated analytical techniques.
Quality Assurance department: Applications of documentation and compliance, developing, reviewing, and maintaining SOPs to ensure consistency and compliance in all processes and Regulatory Compliance that ensures the company adheres to regulations set forth by bodies such as CDSCO, New Delhi, which include Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
To summarize, the industrial visit to Haustus Biotech Pvt. Ltd., Tahliwal was a resounding success, providing students with practical insights into the pharmaceutical industry. Such experiences are crucial in shaping well-rounded professionals equipped to tackle the challenges of the ever-evolving pharmaceutical landscape.
