Introduction:

The industrial visit to Haustus Biotech on September 1, 2023, was an essential component of the B.Pharm course curriculum. This visit provided a valuable opportunity for students to gain practical insights into the pharmaceutical industry and its operations. The visit was meticulously organized by the Training and Placement Cell, and students from the 7th and 5th semesters participated in the event.

Overview of the Visit:

  1. Warm Welcome by Mr. Amit Gupta: Upon our arrival at Haustus Biotech, Mr. Amit Gupta, the Plant Head, extended a warm welcome to the students and faculty members. His cooperation and willingness to share knowledge greatly enhanced the visit.

  2. Exploration of Production Department: Students had the privilege of exploring various sections within the production department. This hands-on experience allowed them to witness the preparation processes for tablets, capsules, syrups, ointments, and medicated soaps. Managers in this department provided valuable insights into drug and raw material storage, as well as the importance of maintaining meticulous documentation.

  3. Equipment and Instrument Familiarization: The students were introduced to the diverse range of equipment and instruments used in pharmaceutical production. They learned about the critical role these tools play in ensuring product quality. Additionally, they gained an understanding of the necessity of maintaining specific temperature and storage conditions for different products.

  4. Quality Control Section: A highlight of the visit was the quality control section. Here, students witnessed the rigorous testing processes that each preparation undergoes to ensure the highest quality standards. Mr. Surinder Guleria, the Manager of the company, provided valuable insights into this crucial aspect of pharmaceutical production.

  5. Packaging Department: Mr. Guleria also guided the students through the various sections of the packaging department. This exposed them to the final stages of product preparation and emphasized the importance of packaging in maintaining product integrity.

Conclusion:

In conclusion, the industrial visit to Haustus Biotech was a highly enriching experience for B.Pharmacy students. It provided a unique opportunity to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application. Beyond classroom learning, the visit allowed students to grasp current industry trends, gain insights into the future prospects of the pharmaceutical sector, and learn about the latest technologies in use.

The students and faculty members are grateful to Mr. Amit Gupta, Mr. Surinder Guleria, and the entire Haustus Biotech team for their warm welcome, cooperation, and willingness to share knowledge.
