Every year on August 29, National Sports Day is observed across India to honor the birthdate of the renowned hockey player Major Dhyan Chand. Under the supervision of Prof. Jasmine Dhiman, the NSS Incharge, conducted National Sports Day at the college level. They joyfully and fervently commemorated this momentous day, encouraging the values of sportsmanship, physical fitness, and unity among students and staff. The Department of Pharmacy and the Department of Engineering together took part in this event to honor National Sports Day. The event was held from August 28, 2024 to August 30, 2024. This event was split into two exciting stages, each of which featured competitive sports that demonstrated the college's dedication to encouraging good sportsmanship, cooperation, and physical health. The official opening of the competition took place at 1:00 p.m. on August 28, 2024. In the first round of combined exciting sports, fans of volleyball, badminton, chess, carrom, and racing had the opportunity to compete in competitive 3-on-3 matches, showcasing their abilities and agility. These many contests highlighted our pupils' numerous talents. While weightlifting showed strength and commitment, chess and carrom required strategic thinking and precision. On August 30, competitors and onlookers excitedly awaited the winners to be announced at the big valedictory of sports. The faculty members of Engineering and Pharmacy took part in volleyball, badminton, carrom, and chess tournaments with great enthusiasm. These games encouraged mental dexterity and strategic thinking in addition to offering a pleasurable diversion from daily life. The occasion was made more exciting by the friendly competition among co-workers. In addition to showcasing the students' physical prowess, this event promoted harmony and friendship within the college community. The NSS club demonstrated its commitment to holistic education and the holistic development of its students by participating in National Sports Day celebrations. Future iterations of Sports Day will surely draw inspiration from its success, igniting a passion for sports and physical fitness among the collegiate population. The closing ceremony was conducted by Principal of Pharmacy Department Dr. Sanjiv Duggal and Principal of Engineering Department Dr. Mithlesh Sharma, and the entire Students Sports Committee team enthusiastically participated in the occasion to ensure its great success.
